I'm having trouble scanning packages with my mobile device. What do I do?

We recommended that the mobile device has at least a 4-mega pixel camera for optimal scanning.

A few tips:

  • Make sure you have enabled the scanning function on your mobile device.
  • Do not hold the camera of the mobile device too far or too close to the barcode. Try moving the camera forwards and backwards when holding it over the barcode to get it in the correct optimum range.
  • Make sure no other barcodes are in range. If there are multiple barcodes on the package, cover up all but the one you want to scan.
  • Make sure you only scan the ByBox label OR the QR code but not both.
  • Make sure the surface of the barcode is flat.
  • Make sure the barcode is not covered, for example, with another sticker or sellotape.
  • Use your flashlight if you are trying to scan in the dark.
  • If you have tried to scan the package both automatically and manually and you are still having problems, contact your Administrator.

Why do I get an incorrect barcode message when scanning?

The incorrect barcode warning message appears when the barcode you are scanning is not in the correct format or does not adhere to the validation set. Each barcode you scan must be validated in the system. If it's not a valid barcode, then you also get this error.

You may see an IGNORE option that allows you to override the warning.

Try scanning the barcode again. If this does not work, you can enter the barcode manually.

If you have tried to scan the package both automatically and manually and you are still having problems, contact your Administrator.
